The unforgettable accidents of Mont Blanc

In 1820, Dr. Hamel and a few guides began the ascent of Mont Blanc. The departure was prepared in the cabin of the Grands Mulets where this small group mentally prepared themselves. The Chamonix guides did not have good news concerning the weather. It snowed heavily and the sub-zero temperatures did not help matters for the roped party.
